Harness the power of mindfulness to improve your well-being and the safety and quality of your patient care.
This course is unlike any CME course you have taken before. Based on Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), it will allow you to learn how to use mindfulness to improve your well-being and the care you provide.
Similar to MBSR, the course follows a longitudinal format. While MBSR meets for 2.5 hours weekly for 8 weeks, this course follows a more manageable schedule of 90 minute sessions weekly for 4 weeks. Each session will consist of didactic content, mindfulness practice, and group dialogue regarding the practice.
Participants will be provided mindfulness meditation recordings to practice daily while taking part in the course. Much of the learning and growth during and after the course will take place through the daily home meditation practice. Each recording is 15 to 20 minutes long (for context, MBSR expects participants to use 45-minute recordings).
